Police in Melksham have promised to step up their drug inspections of the town’s pubs, after a recent operation uncovered several examples of illegal activity.
The town’s neighbourhood policing team conducted a small drugs operation on Friday, May 30, visiting four pubs and speaking to licensees and drinkers.
A 45-year-old man was issued with a cannabis street caution in The Unicorn, and evidence of drug use was also discovered at The Forester’s Arms.
PC Kane Fulbrook-Smith led the operation.
He said: “We covered The Forrester’s Arms, The Pilot, The New Inn and The Unicorn.
“It was very good, the message went out to quite a lot of the customers.”
