Warminster roofer Keith Saunders smashed the world record for ladder climbing at Salisbury Fire Station at the weekend, climbing the equivalent of 13,239m on a ladder in a 24-hour marathon.
The 46-year-old from Copheap Lane, Warminster, broke the previous record of 13,120m to raise funds for Raleigh International, a charity which encourages young people to volunteer and work with communities living in poverty.
Mr Saunders said: “I’m physically and emotionally drained. I’m going to spend the next couple of days recovering.
“Thanks to everyone who supported me I have now raised £1,800.”
In September he is going to north Borneo with the charity to help youngsters.
