A 25-year-old man has died after being involved in a three-vehicle collision on a Wiltshire road.
The man, who has not been identified but is said to be from the Bath area, had been transferred from Salisbury District Hospital to Southampton General Hospital for specialist treatment, after suffering serious head injuries in yesterday's incident.
He had been a passenger in a Ford Transit which was involved in the collision between Chitterne and Shrewton, near Amesbury.
The road was blocked from about 7.15am yesterday until late in the afternoon.
Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, ambulance services and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance were all involved.
Police say a green Audi saloon was being driven west by a 38-year-old Surrey man which collided near Maddington Farm with a black BMW hatchback being driven east by a man, aged 24, from Bath.
The Audi then continued westbound, hitting a white Ford Transit van being driven east by a 53-year-old male from the Bath area.
The driver of the Audi sustained serious head injuries and was taken to to Southampton General Hospital where he is in a serious condition. The BMW driver was treated for minor injuries.
The Transit driver and two of the passengers were taken to Salisbury District Hospital but were not badly hurt.
But a further passenger, aged 25, suffered serious injuries and has now died.
