Godfrey Marks’ letter (Vote no to core zone) in your December 12 issue is riddled with misunderstanding and misinformation. Fortunately there is no need for us to catalogue the errors here and invite a tit-for-tat response from Godfrey.

Your readers will have every opportunity to find out for themselves during the next few weeks. In addition to the town council leaflet being distributed to every Bradford on Avon household, there will be an exhibition about the proposals and four public meetings to discuss them.

The exhibition will be in the Coach House at the Swan Hotel from December 17 to January 29, all day, and the public meetings will be on Monday, January 5, 2-5pm; Wednesday, January 7, 9am-noon; Saturday, January 10, 10am-1 pm and Thursday, January 22, 7-9 pm, all in St Margaret’s Hall.

Readers, please come to one or more of these events and find out for themselves the benefits that the Historic Core Zone proposals should bring to Bradford on Avon, its residents and its visitors.

Isabel Martindale, Chairman, Bradford on Avon Area Seniors Forum.

Gerald Milward-Oliver, Chairman, Bradford on Avon Development Trust.

David Moss, Chairman, Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust.
