Westbury’s Bright Stars Pre-school and Nursery units are celebrating a double success, after both being graded outstanding in their Ofsted inspections.

It was a first check for the pre-school, which was opened on the Woodland Industrial Estate in 2012, but it was outstanding across the board.

Inspectors found children made “outstanding progress” and “gaps in learning and development close rapidly.” It said staff took account of “every child’s developmental needs and interests.”

The report said the owner and managers had “excellent systems in place to oversee the educational programmes” and “they are highly committed to continuous improvement.”

A week after the pre-school inspection, on November 6, Ofsted visited Bright Stars Nursery, which opened at White Horse Children’s Centre in Eden Vale Road in 2008.

The nursery, graded as outstanding in its 2012 inspection, was again outstanding in each category.

The report said the partnership with parents was “exceptional.”

Inspectors said “children make excellent progress in all areas of learning and development” and the “exceptionally well-qualified” management team ensure that staff work hard to meet all requirements extremely well.

Owner Laura Prior-Mangum said: “We have all worked so hard to ensure we offer the highest standards of care and it’s fantastic this hard work has been recognised.”

Manager Jackie Day said: “We feel this is a huge achievement and one that we are very proud of.”
