Register of home appliances could cut risk of fire
A new idea which could cut fire risk in homes is being backed by Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service. People can now sign up to Register My Appliance, to allow manufacturers to recall products and send safety alerts.
Neil Chamberlain, the service’s home safety manager, said: “The system will mean accurate records of who owns particular makes and models so manufacturers can ensure the right information reaches the right people in good time.” Join at www.registermyappliance.org.uk
