A BINGO marathon is on the cards at the Players Club in Westbury to raise money for Julia’s House.

Bingo players’ endurance will be put to the test with the charity slog, which will take place between 10am and 6pm on Saturday, September 24.

Organiser Sheila Harris is asking local people and businesses to get involved by donating vouchers, household goods and more.

She said: “Julia’s House is such a good charity to raise money for as it’s local and you know where the money’s going.

“I’ve had a good life but some of those poor children haven’t even had a chance, it’s so sad.

“Local businesses have been very kind and have donated some absolutely brilliant prizes. for people to win.

“On the day, people will be able to win meal vouchers for pubs, days out, jewellery, bottles of champagne and much more, all kindly donated – but we still want more prizes to help raise as much money as possible.

“People can come along and play as much bingo as they like on the day, it’s going to be good fun.”

This is the fourth fundraising bingo event that Mrs Harris has organised, with two for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and one for a Trowbridge boy who needed a liver transplant all raising over £1,000.

If you would like to donate a prize for the event, drop it at Players Club, Quartermaster Road, for the attention of Julia’s House.

Ian Wadley, Wiltshire fundraising manager for Julia’s House, said: “We would like to thank everybody involved for kindly choosing to support Julia’s House at the marathon bingo event.

“With just five per cent of our total annual funding coming from government, Julia’s House is very much a service for the local community, funded by the local community, so we are very grateful for this generous support.”
