POLICE officers chased down and arrested two men from Trowbridge on suspicion of drug offences.
At approximately 8.10pm on Saturday (September 9), police officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the County Way Tesco car park after concerns that the men had been involved in a drug deal.
One of the occupants tried to escape on foot using the path near the River Biss but he was eventually arrested in the woodlands near Biss Meadows and a search on his car revealed a large amount of cash.
The man, who was taken to Melksham custody, also had suspected Class A drugs and more cash in his possession so he was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs and money laundering. The second man was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class B drugs, possession of Class B drugs and money laundering.
They have since been release under investigation.
Anyone who saw the vehicle or the men should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
