CASTLE Place Market in Trowbridge has an extra retailer in its midst after an 18-year-old set up her own gift stall.

Monica Bruton, St Laurence Road, Bradford on Avon, has just opened Myda & Coral and so far she is loving it.

Her stall sells cushions, candles, jewellery, necklaces, gift bags, cocktail jars and bath smellies, among others.

The former St Laurence pupil got this off of the ground through her own savings and she says she has wanted to do this for a very long time.

“I am really excited about starting my own business, it is something I have always thought about but to actually be here is amazing,” she said.

“I was working in retail at H&M in Bath but I wanted to work for myself. This seems like a really good place to start.

“This has all come from my savings, I have not had any handouts or anything like that. It is all so exciting.

“However my family and especially my nine-year-old sister, Lorel, who has been telling as many people as possible about the business.”

The stall is open from Monday-Saturday between 9am-5pm.
