MARSHA, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance mascot, paid a surprise visit to Broughton Gifford Pre-School.

She dropped in to see the children and to receive a £175.50 cheque from staff towards the Air Ambulance Appeal funds.

After being presented with the cheque, Marsha joined in the fun as the children played in their new outdoor activities area.

The children raised the money for the Semington-based charity by completing a sponsored Wellie Walk of 14 laps around the pre-school grounds.

School spokesman Bev Grylls said: “Fifteen of the 21 children took part in the Wellie Walk and raised the sponsorship themselves.

“Marsha the mascot was amazing. She was dancing with all of the children and got loads of hugs. It was absolutely boiling on the day so she must have been very hot.

“We chose the WAA as we wanted the children to learn about the air ambulance and what they do to save lives.”
