WITH the usual monthly sessions of Melksham Messy Church taking a break during August, the church is hosting a holiday club this summer.

Messy Church Summer Fun is from August 6 to 10 at Queensway Chapel, Melksham, from 11am to 12.30pm.

Organisers are planning an adventure theme, with each day looking at a different character in the Bible.

Spokesman Hannah Tarring said: “There will be stories, games, celebration, worship and of course lots of messy craft! It's free and children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.”

Children can bring packed lunches on Monday to Thursday, and there will be a pizza party on the Friday.

Melksham Messy Church will be celebrating its first birthday at the next event on Sunday, July 22 from 4pm to 5.30pm at Forest & Sandridge Primary School.

Hannah added: “The theme will be the Lord’s Prayer, with crafts relating to different parts of the prayer, along with the usual story, worship, song and shared meal. There will be birthday cake too!”

The session is free (donations welcome) and open to all families whether they come regularly or whether they’ve never been to church before.
