THERE were so many brides and grooms-to-be at the Wiltshire Times' Wedding Fair on Sunday that an extra fashion show had to be laid on.

Models were called back to the catwalk to parade tuxedos and dresses at the event held in the Lackham Countryside Centre near Lacock.

A total of 26 businesses, ranging from holiday company Sunshine Travel to jewellers Fairytale Chic, were present to promote their wares.

The fashion show featured clothes for brides, grooms and bridesmaids from Bridal Heaven in Devizes, The Clothes Horse in Bathford, and Bridesmaid Victoria in Westbury.

"It was a very, very good show, the fair was very busy and we believe the footfall through the door was very high," said Teri Stout, of Bridal Heaven.

"The thing about Lackham is that people have to travel, so that means the quality of the people coming through the door is a lot better.

"You don't just get people there because there's something on."

And it was also a successful day for Warminster photographers David Wiltshire.

Partner John Edkins said: "It seems to have been particularly good and there was quite a lot of positive feedback from couples.

"The last few Wiltshire Times fairs we have done have been very busy."

But perhaps the fair's most popular stall was the chocolate fountain supplied by Chocolate Oasis of Chippenham.

The Wiltshire Times is organising another wedding fair, to be held on September 28 in the Civic Hall, Trowbridge.
