A Wiltshire family is at their “wits’ end” after nearly a year of dealing with a damp and now leaking ceiling.

Dominic and Jade Rogers, who live with their young son Ash in a GreenSquareAccord-owned house at Pottows Field in Cherhill, say the property is “substandard” and are demanding an urgent move.

This comes after nine months of persistent mould partially originating from damp problems in the bedroom ceiling, which has now started to “constantly leak.”

The family have consistently tried to clean the mould but says the poor condition of the storage heaters they have been given to heat the home has made it impossible to keep on top of the issue.

These conditions have caused health problems such as chest infections for the family and Mrs Rogers, who lives with cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user, has been significantly impacted.

Mr Rogers said: “It has been nine months since we raised serious issues with mould in the property and this has not been resolved.

“In fact, we now have water dripping from the ceiling in the bedroom. We have a young child and an adult with disabilities in the property.

“It would appear we are being fobbed off… we are at our wits’ end and not sure where to turn.”

Mrs Rogers has previously told this paper that the conditions in the property contribute to the “pain” in her legs.

She added: “I’m in a wheelchair. We’ve all had coughs, colds and chest infections and, when I get ill, I suffer more than the average person.

“We feel trapped and like no one wants to help us.”

On Friday, November 17, a spokesperson for GreenSquareAccord apologised for the issues in the house and claimed an inspection would be carried out the next day.

They added: “We are sorry to hear that Mr Rogers and his family are experiencing difficulties in their home. The health and well-being of our customers is our top priority.

“We worked with Mr Rogers earlier this year to treat the mould and improve the loft insulation in his home.

“Mr Rogers has not been in touch with us to inform us about the leak in his bedroom ceiling. Now we are aware of the issue, we contacted him today and we’re going to inspect his ceiling tomorrow. We are committed to working with Mr Rogers to resolve the issues in his home.”

Mr Rogers says no repair team visited his property on the weekend of Saturday, November 18.
