Wiltshire Council received an application for renovation work inside Chippenham Museum this week.

This would involve the demolition of an arch infill partition wall, the construction of new steps, a ramp and new partition walls with associated joinery works.

According to the application, the plans would “greatly improve the flexibility of the Museum, improve access through the new spaces and improve the visual appearance of this neglected part of the historic building.”

Meanwhile, a different proposal could see an area of disused land approximately five miles outside Malmesbury become 25 new homes in the near future.

The development site is located on Tuners Lane, on the outskirts of Crudwell, a village connected to the rest of the county by the A429.

The field is 1.37ha in area and the existing houses in the village date back as far as the 1950s.
