A three-home development on the site of a demolished house left derelict for years is due to be completed in 2024.

Construction on the Rowden Court project, on Rowden Hill in Chippenham, began last summer when a former family home that had been abandoned for 12 years was demolished.

The building had stood at the side of the main road for nearly a century but was left partially destroyed after being torched in a blaze in 2011.

Now work is ongoing to build three four-bedroom homes in its place.

Construction of the development has made major strides in the last five months and the scheme is expected to be completed by the summer of 2024, according to estate agents Perry Bishop.

The new Calibre Homes houses are currently on the market for offers in the region of £625,000.

Each of the new homes will contain four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, and a family room.

They will also boast a single garage leading to a blocked paved driveway, while a laid to lawn garden with an Indian sandstone patio will be located to the rear of the properties.

In their planning application, Calibre Homes also applied to widen the public footpath at the site to two metres to ease pedestrian access.
