Construction has started on the latest stage of a project to build 1,000 new homes in Wiltshire.
Work recently began on a Wiltshire Council scheme to build new housing developments at Haymeadow Way in Rowde and Maud Davies Close at Corsley.
This project is part of a wider 10-year plan to build 1,000 affordable homes across the county.
There will be 10 new homes in Rowde and eight in Corsley.
They will be a mix of social rent and shared ownership properties, and are scheduled to be completed later this year.
Cllr Phil Alford, cabinet member for housing, said the dwellings would be “much needed” and have low running costs.
He added: “Work recently began on two new housing sites as part of our programme to provide 1,000 affordable homes over the next decade.
“They are part of our council house build programme, which will see around £200m invested in building new, energy-efficient council homes up to 2030.
“We will also be making substantial investment in improving our current council homes to ensure they achieve a minimum energy performance rating of B.”
The council says the new homes will be factory-built in Dorset to “the highest quality standard” before being delivered to the site.
The developments will boast a mix of bungalows flats and houses, with gardens and parking.
