Hundreds of homes across Wiltshire are currently without power.

There are currently 168 homes across three separate areas throughout Wiltshire which are without power due to planned outages by the power company, Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks.

Six homes in Marlborough have been affected across two postcodes. They will be without power until 4.30pm today (Friday, February 23) and started at 8.30am. The postcodes affected are SN8 3HN and SN8 3HW.

123 homes across 15 postcodes have been affected between Chippenham and Calne, near Derry Hill. This outage started at 8am and is expected until 4am. These are all within the SN11 area.

There are then 39 homes without power near South Wraxall, between Corsham and Bradford-on Avon. This outage began at 8.30am and is expected to last until 4.30am.

There has also been an unexpected power cut in Cricklade which is expected to be resolved by 2pm and is affecting five homes.

A spokesperson for SSEN explained why these planned outages have been made. They said: "We’re sorry for the loss of supply.

"The reason you’re currently without power is a planned outage in the areas listed.

"We have turned off your electricity supply to allow us to safely carry out essential work to our electrical equipment."
