A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the knife attack in Trowbridge last night (March 18) that resulted in a man being taken to hospital with a cut on his head.

Police said the assault took place in Park Road, Trowbridge, and the man was cut with a blade, said by witnesses to be a machete.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody. 

Police said: “The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries which, whilst serious, are not thought to be life-threatening.

“Members of the public may notice an increased police presence, with extra patrols being mounted in the area.

“Detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident, which took place at about 6.45pm.
