An auction house in Wiltshire which opened for the first time four months ago is now set to make its first TV appearance on a popular show.

RWB Auctions, located along Royal Wootton Bassett High Street, opened its doors to the public on Monday, January 15 after renovating the site of a former Co-op.

Set up by silverware and coin dealer Jon White, the site offers regular auctions featuring rare and historic items from across the world, as well as a newly opened Bistro and gallery.

But on Wednesday, May 22, the auction house will celebrate another first as it welcomes the hit BBC show Bargain Hunt to the premises.

Announcing the news, a spokesperson for RWB Auctions said: "We are very excited to host Bargain Hunt for our next Antiques and Interiors Sale, which will be held on Wednesday, 22nd May.

"If you have items you would like to consign to this very special event, we invite you to bring them along to our salerooms to be valued by our team.

"We are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 am. to 4:30 pm, and no appointment is needed. To be included in this sale, items must be consigned by Friday, 3rd May."

Head auctioneer, Gareth Wasp, confirmed that the TV show's production team would be filming 36 lots.

The announcement comes just one week after RWB Auctions opened Quercus Bistro, a new coffee stop and restaurant joining on to the auction house.

“We're not just an auction house," said hospitality operations manager Steve Newton.

“It is a place where people can spend some quality time here, they could even spend a whole day here."

Although it's unclear if the show's stars plan to stop off for a coffee at the new Bistro, they will be returning to Wiltshire later that month when they bring their acclaimed show, Antiques and A Little Bit of Nonsense, to Swindon's Wyvern Theatre.

The stage show will see TV personalities Charlie Ross, Christina Trevanion and Philip Serrell share anecdotes from their time in front of the cameras and the inside story of what life is like in the world of antiques.

The show opens on May 16, just two weeks after Bargain Hunt is set to visit the nearby Royal Wootton Bassett auction house.
