Police surrounded a house in Trowbridge town centre before arresting a man who had allegedly breached his bail conditions.

Officers made the arrest in St James Gardens off Union Street on Thursday, May 2.

The man was wanted in connection with an alleged assault in Bradford on Avon.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We have arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of breaching his bail conditions.

“He has been bailed with further conditions.

“This follows a reported assault in Bradford on Avon on March 8.”

The arrest followed a heavy police presence in Trowbridge town centre on Thursday with seven police vehicles, a police van and an unmarked car involved.
