A 45-YEAR-OLD man has been charged after allegedly threatening construction workers with a Samurai sword in Warminster.
Police were called to East Street shortly before 10am on Friday following reports of a man ‘threatening’ construction workers with a sword.
Armed police were called in but local officers Acting Sergeant Graham Briant and PC Paul Harvey were first on the scene.
AS Briant said: "This incident appears to have centered around a dispute over replacement windows.
“Naturally it was a very alarming and unexpected event for the builders. “Violent crimes, especially those involving knives and blades are one of our top priorities.”
*Frederick Henry Stokes, of East Street, Warminster, was charged with affray.
Stokes, who is unemployed, is due to appear at Chippenham magistrates’ court in January.
