FOLK-POP singer KT Tunstall has reportedly pulled out of a deal to move to a house in Wiltshire leaving the £1m pad free to be snapped up by an up-and-coming starlet.

Tunstall, whose hits include Suddenly I See, fell in love with Huntenhull Farm in Chapmanslade, near Westbury.

But when the Ivor Novello and Brit Award winner’s deal to buy the house, set in 5.75 acres, fell through it was ‘snapped up’ by aspiring singer Zeya Phillips.

A spokesman for Quite Great Publicity, Zeya’s agents, said: “Upon finding her dream property down in Wiltshire, KT was ready to set up home in the beautiful countryside, even designing her very own studio.

“Supposedly the studio was to be built in the orchard overlooking the six-acre landscaped garden.

“Apparently having a few hits to your name doesn’t help you get around the local authority.

“Since then, Zeya Phillips has snapped up the property and has already started work on an approved custom-loft studio.”

Rock and pop singer Zeya, 27, who has just released her second single Sticks on iTunes this month, has moved into the five-bedroom, Grade II listed property, with outbuildings and an orangery, with her songwriter boyfriend Crispin Thomas.

Zeya said KT Tunstall’s plans for the house were revealed by the agents selling the home.

“I have bought a big project for renovation and it transpires that KT Tunstall had bought it before me,” said Zeya, who is currently working with music producer Chris Neal, who helped launch the career of Celine Dion.

“She wanted to build a studio in the orchard but the sale fell through.

“It’s very fitting that we both wanted it. It obviously appeals to the music lovers.”

Zeya is currently adding the final touches to her album in between renovation work to transform the five-bedroom manor house with outbuildings, which will include a new spa, guest suite and garage for their beloved VW 67 Campervan.

A spokesman for KT Tunstall’s agents Relentless said they could not comment on the story as the singer is currently on her honeymoon and cannot be contacted.
