Despite not playing a league match for three months and going a goal down within the first five minutes, Westbury battled back to win an evenly matched game and extend their winning run to four games.

After so long without a game it was to be expected that Westbury would start the game a little rusty, and sure enough within five minutes they were a goal down.

Bemerton sent a high looping cross into the box and under pressure Sam Ladd was unlucky to see his header just squeeze inside his own post.

This Westbury side do not just lie down when a setback strikes and they immediately burst into life, within a minute they had the ball back down at the Bemerton end and won a free kick about 30 yards out on the left side of the pitch.

Jonny Tribick sent a curing ball into the box and Sam Ladd looked about to get his head on it and score at the right end, he could not quite reach it, but his presence was enough to put of defence and goal keeper and the ball found its way clean trough into the net.

The rest of the half ebbed and flowed with both teams getting to the opponents box without really coming close to scoring.

The second half saw Westbury immediately into top gear and looking to get in front.

Then after only four minutes a long ball forward fell nicely for Jonny Tribick who struck a beautiful first time volley low past the Bemerton keeper, for his second of the game.

After this in truth the game did become a bit scrappy, again going form end to end, but usually resulting in a poor final ball or wide shot.

There was the odd nice bit of passing football, but it was not until the 78th minute that the score changed.

This time the ball was fed through to Jonny Tribick, who despite being fouled in the area stayed on his feet, rode another tackle and got a shot in.

The keeper could only parry, however, and Jonny was quick enough to seize on the rebound and force it home for a well deserved hat trick. Thereafter Westbury's defence came under pressure, but were able to see out the game.
