Bradford on Avon town councillor Peter Leach has safeguarded 43 jobs after his company bought the book printing operations of a publishing group from Yeovil.
The former mayor's firm, JF Print based in Frome Road, Bradford, bought the book printing arm of Haynes Publishing Group, saving 43 full-time and seven part-time jobs.
As part of the agreement, JF Print, will continue to print the titles currently produced by Haynes UK Book Division, including titles covering general motoring, transport, computing, health, home maintenance and other leisure activities.
Cllr Leach, managing director of JF Print, said that the acquisition of Haynes Book Production was a ‘superb opportunity’ and that he wanted to buck the trend of the industry.
