MELKSHAM and District Flower Arranging Society held its annual competition on Tuesday, with a Help For Heroes theme.
The military charity is the association’s charity of the year, and all funds raised throughout 2010 will be donated to the cause, which helps wounded servicemen and servicewomen cope with their injuries. Fifty-two entries were judged across eight classes by Carol Moore of the National Association of Flower Arrangers.
Entries included an arrangement called “Coldstream Guards” in the colours of the famous regiment, and a display entitled “Chocks Away” which included a miniature aeroplane.
Sue Spurrier, chairman of the association, said: “It was a very good day. We had a good turnout and the judge was very impressed and said that the standard was high.”
