A GANG of children, some thought to be as young as 10, have been terrorising shopkeepers in Trowbridge.
The group of about six or seven youngsters have been making the lives of shop staff in Silver Street a misery for the past two weeks.
Jim Creek, 65, from the Alms House, said: "They are very threatening, saying they will come back and beat you up and we are pretty sure we have had items stolen."
Geoff Dineley, 57, who runs Silver Street News with his wife Annette, 53, was pushed over by one of the gang members on Tuesday after asking him to leave the shop. Mrs Dineley said: "They come in and ask for cigarettes and they are obviously not old enough but when you ask them to leave they start using the abusive language."
Staff in Mackays and Lloyds Pharmacy have also had problems with the group. The youngsters have sprayed hairspray around the clothing store when asked to leave and emptied out tubes of sun lotion in the pharmacy. The shopkeepers have informed police of the situation.
