BABY Leighton was born by Caesarean section in Bath's Royal United Hospital on July 6 after mum Heidi discovered he was in breech position at her 37-week scan.

Mother and baby have since been recovering in peaceful Trowbridge Community Hospital with regular visits from Leighton's father, Mervyn, and two-year-old brother, Presley.

Presley has been looking forward to having a baby brother to play with and has also received a lot of presents from his family so he doesn't feel left out.

Mrs Cox said: "It's all a bit of a novelty for him at the moment but when we get home I'm sure it will sink in more." Mrs Cox said she began having cravings for very salty foods at the end of her pregnancy.

She said: "My husband was eating Pringles one night and I tried some and couldn't even taste the salt even though they were very salty."

Both of Mrs Cox's children were born by Caesarean because they were breech, although Leighton turned round at the last minute just before he was born. The couple picked the name Leighton from a list Mrs Cox had created and wanted something unusual, just like their first child's name.

Born: Thursday, 9.10am, Weight: 6lbs 6oz, Parents: Heidi and Mervyn Cox, of St Michael's Road, Melksham.
