A YOUNG balloon race winner has been given a map of the route his balloon took as a souvenir.
Joe Bamber, seven, from Pewsham, took part in a sponsored balloon launch in aid of Diabetes UK and his balloon travelled 66.4 miles to Solihull to win him the top prize.
Mum Nicky said: "He was so excited about winning, he was over the moon about it. The map is a really lovely present for him to have."
The balloon race was part of a whole day of events to raise money for the charity.
Joe and his mum also took part in a Walk in the Park event held at Lackham College on June 11, when they were joined by Mrs Bamber's mother, Jo Chave, 73.
People from all around north and west Wiltshire took part in the walk, one of 80 organised around the country, raising thousands of pounds.
Organiser Dave Mosdall said: "There were about 160 walkers, from Chippenham, Bath, Trowbridge and all around and we were very pleased with how it went."
Joe proudly wore his Walk in the Park t-shirt at the event and has now been presented with a beanie bear, mug and pen as part of his balloon race prize.
