Premier division new boys AFC Melksham enjoyed double success at the weekend with a Saturday afternoon victory over Trowbridge League first division outfit Broughton Gifford, who they beat 3-0 at the Common.
They followed that up with a 16-2 romp against Stockley Rangers who before the season has even kicked off, have pulled out of the Chippenham League.
First half goals from Jordan Kirk and Dave Jenkins and a screamer from Chris Rogers in the second half saw Melksham dominate possession against Broughton, who had Paul Ranger playing in defence and Steve Badger up front but despite their efforts the home side never looked like getting the result.
Melksham played host to Stockley on Sunday morning and ran riot scoring 16 against their spirited guests - goals coming from Ashley Fletcher who bagged a five-timer, Tom Baxley who scored four, Brett Partner and Jordan Evans scored two each and a goal apiece from Ian Dowel, Adam Crook and Dan Barnett.
Melksham welcome Christian Malford on Wednesday and Sportzcoach United on Sunday as they prepare for the new season.
