MUSIC lovers will be in for a treat at the first Seend Acoustic Festival.
The event has been organised by Malcolm Shipp, who moved to Seend just over a year ago after he and partner Jenny Dalton found their dream home on the TV programme Location, Location, Location.
Soon after they moved to the village Mr Shipp, 44, a sales manager, founded the Seend Acoustic Club.
It meets twice a month upstairs in Seend Community Centre.
He said: “The room is packed every time and we get a good number of locals attending.
“I thought it would be good to hold a festival and we have got an incredible line-up of 12 fantastic acoustic music acts.
“The music will vary from folk, jazz, blues and swing and all the instruments will be acoustic, with guitars, violins, basses, cellos and flutes.”
The festival is on Saturday, September 10, at Seend Community Centre from 12.30pm into the evening.
Acts include David Gibb and Elly Lucas, who were finalists in the prestigious BBC Young Folk Awards, Reg Meuross, who tours Britain and America and is recognised as one of the UK’s most talented and widely respected singer-songwriters and Seend teenage songstress Audrey Aroha.
Closing the show will be The Great Western Chorus, a 40-strong barbershop chorus who have won the British championships eight times.
Also at the festival will be a beer tent, food stalls and Mr Shipp has more stalls available for hire for arts and crafts and other goods.
Tickets are £12.50 for the afternoon or evening session or £20 for an all day ticket.
For tickets or to enquire about having a stall at the festival, call Mr Shipp on 01380 827041 or visit the website www.seendacoustic.org.
