Melksham's new Town Team is planning its first Tidy Town Day on Sunday.
The team, formed following an open meeting in April, is putting together a plan to make the town more attractive, starting with the clean-up at 12.30pm, from the Town Hall in Market Place.
The team and volunteers will move through the town, picking up litter, clearing weeds and cleaning the fronts of empty shops.
Essential equipment will be provided, but volunteers are being asked to bring their own gloves. The event will finish at 3pm with tea and cakes.
For more details, see Terri Welch at the Tourist Information Centre , call on 01225 707 424 or send an email to info@ visit-melksham.com.
The team meets monthly and is putting together a website. To get involved or offer any ideas, email melksham townteam@gmail.com
