Wiltshire Police has released an E-fit image of a man they would like to talk to in connection with an assault on a 12-year-old girl in Trowbridge.

At approximately 4.30pm on July 31 the girl was walking in an alleyway at the side of The Grove School between Almond Grove and Hazel Grove when she was inappropriately touched by a man.

The man is described as white, 40-50 years-old, appeared to be cross eyed and was wearing orange fluorescent bottoms and a navy blue polo top with a red logo on.

PC Tania Hedley said: "This was a frightening experience for the young victim and we are conducting a number of enquiries to identify the man responsible and increasing patrols in the area. This is an isolated incident and fortunately the victim was not injured in the incident.

"I would like to appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault to come forward. We know that there were two white trucks parked on College Road at the time of the incident and we would particularly like the drivers/passengers to contact us as they may have important information which could help our investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Hedley on 101 or call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.

Anyone who would like personal safety advice can contact their local Neighbourhood Policing Team who will be happy to help or visit www.wiltshire.police.uk
