YOUNGSTERS got back to nature when they took part in a craft day at Southwick Country Park on Monday.

More than 100 children attended with their parents, childminders and grandparents at the event organised by the Friends of the Park and Wiltshire Council’s rights of way and countryside team.

Organiser Ali Rasey said: “Everyone was really enthusiastic and happy to get involved. I was encouraged to see so many children keen to have fun with nature.

“In the end, we mainly made windmills and kites which the children played with after they had made them.”

The council helped with the cost of materials. Ms Rasey said: “We were aware that a lot of people are facing financial hardship at the moment and we didn’t want this to be an issue. We wanted to attract lots of local people and provide free entertainment.”
