IN response to Terry Chivers’ allegations that Melksham Without Parish Council is giving confusing information to residents about the Zig Zag bus service, may I put the record straight by pointing out that it was Mr Chivers himself who circulated misinformation about the Zig Zag bus service, by sending a copy email to the parish council on May 16 stating: “I’m told that Faresaver may be withdrawing from the route from September.”
Our transport rep took this in good faith to mean the contract was up for renewal and said the service could be cut, not that it was being cut – a very big difference.
As soon as he received the new Zig Zag timetable showing that the service was not being changed, he let the council know that Mr Chivers’ email was incorrect. A staff member then kindly sent Mr Chivers the correct information.
