POLICE in Bradford on Avon say a drug raid on a house in Holt was its biggest success of the year.

Officers from the town’s Neighbourhood Policing Team raided a bungalow in the village and seized a large amount of herbal cannabis with a potential street value of about £3,500.

A man from Holt has since been questioned for cultivation and possession of a class B drug.

PC Lee Pelling, community beat manager, said that it was co-operation between the community and the NPT which led to the discovery.

He said: “It’s a good example of the community supporting the NPT in providing us with information which is how we operate a lot of the time.”

Equipment which was used in the cultivation of the drug was seized and destroyed.

PC Pelling said he hopes the public will help the NPT in the future. He added: “It was one of the biggest hauls we’ve had this year and it shows the way the NPT works; looking after the needs of the community and getting positive results.”
