RESIDENTS at Wiltshire Heights care home were treated to a Cinderella-themed horse and carriage trip in and around Bradford on Avon.

Activities co-ordinator Jo Kemp came up with the idea after staff and residents put on their panto at the Berryfield Road home.

Mrs Kemp said: ”I left it as a bit of a surprise for the residents.”

The horse and carriage were supplied by Bramble Farm Carriage Hire of North Bradley and nearly half the 30 residents were able to a ride in the seven-seater carriage.

Mrs Kemp said: “The ones who could not go on the carriage watched out of the windows and they all loved seeing it go around.”

Wiltshire Heights has put on similar events in the past, including an appearance by Brendan Lynch from the Great British Bake Off and a performance by the Military Wives choir.

Mrs Kemp said: “The residents thoroughly enjoyed it.

"I was hoping to get a 'wow' factor and from the response we’ve have, I’d say we delivered.”
