A 45-YEAR-OLD man arrested as part of the 20-year-old police investigation into the murder of Bradford Leigh woman Melanie Hall has been released on bail.

The man was arrested by Avon and Somerset Police last Thursday on suspicion of murdering the 25-year-old, but has since been released on bail until July 7.

Melanie’s mother, Pat Hall, said: “There has been a few incidents over the last 20 years or so and we do not get too hopeful. It did seem hopeful this time round but obviously not.”

Melanie was last seen at the former Cadillacs nightclub in Walcot Street, Bath, in the early hours of June 9, 1996.

Her remains were found in vegetation off the northbound slipway at junction 14 of the M5 near Thornbury in 2009.
