Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has been announced as the new patron of charity Jamie’s Farm in Box.

The Duchess first visited the farm in April 2012, when she was given a tour and met the staff at the farm and the children who visit.

More than 2,000 youngsters have visited the charity since 2009. It works with vulnerable children from big cities, to build their self-esteem and resilience through experiencing farm work.

Jamie Feilden, Jamie’s Farm chief executive, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Her Royal Highness has agreed to become our patron.”

He added: “It is clear that the enthusiasm that the Duchess shows for the countryside and the keen interest she takes in education is a great match for us.”
