Community First has now released the official logo for its 50th birthday campaign, which was designed by young Wiltshire carer Jaret Wrintmore.

The 12-year-old Corsham School pupil was told last week that his design had been chosen from more than 20 submitted by other young carers as part of a competition run by the charity.

It will be used on all the charity’s correspondence in the next 12 months, including promotional material and information relating to the 50 campaign.

Lynn Gibson, the assistant chief executive of Community First, said: “We liked the design as we feel the holding hands shows us coming together as a community and a charity.”

Jaret, who lives in Shaw with his parents and sister, said: “I got the idea from my Scouts centenary badge.

“I used the stick men to represent that it doesn’t matter what you look like, don’t judge someone just from the outside.

“I was so shocked when I found out from my dad that I had won the competition.

“I have always liked drawing and I would like to study graphic design in the future.”

Jaret won a £25 Argos gift card as a prize.

Jaret, a Year 8 pupil, has been attending a Community First-run young carer group for a year.

He was referred as he has been caring and providing emotional support to a family member for two to three hours a week over the past two years.

Jaret has taken part in activities with the Youth Action Wiltshire branch, which puts on events to support young carers.

These included a camping trip, a trip to the Caen Hill Countryside Centre and a Christmas party.
