Seven students from Melksham Oak Community School hopped on their bikes and put their legs to the test as they travelled nearly 25 miles for charity last week.
Following the Tour of Britain excitement the year 11 students cycled from Melksham to Bath to raise money for the charity Brainwave, which helps children with disabilities improve their mobility, learning and communication skills.
The pupils also undertook the challenge as part of part of the Skillforce charity award programme.
Instructor John Crew, from Skillforce, said: “From start to finish the students conducted themselves impeccably and were totally confident that they would be successful in completing the task in the time available.
“Whilst travelling along the route we heard quotes like ‘this is harder than I thought’, ‘my legs hurt’ and the classic ‘are we there yet’.”
After completing the challenge the students held a presentation at Melksham Oak and handed over the £218 which they had raised to Paul Smith, South West Community Manager for Brainwave Charity.
Those who took part were Max King, Charlie Cottee, Robyn Price, Joshua Robinson, Lewis Filkins, Lewis Smith and Thomas Ireland.
