Accountant and financial planning business Old Mill in Melksham has won a top industry award.

At the Institute of Financial Planning awards the firm scooped the David Norton award for building excellence, which is given to a financial planning firm which could benefit from expert mentoring and business support to help it make the final step to becoming an accredited firm.

As part of the application process the company had to demonstrate its commitment to financial planning and submit an exciting and well thought-out business plan with unique features.

The firm was a runner-up at last year’s awards so staff are thrilled to have won it this year.

Head of financial planning at Old Mill, Paula Hodge, said: “We are extremely proud to have won the David Norton award.

“Having come so close to winning last year, we very much took the judges’ feedback on board and have worked hard to further develop and refine the Old Mill financial planning experience.

“The application process is detailed and demanding and to finally receive this recognition from the IFP is a great endorsement. It gives us the reassurance that we are very much on the right track.

“The award recognises the tremendous hard work of everyone at Old Mill and shows our complete commitment to continually looking to improve the Old Mill client experience.”
