Southern Electric restored the power supply to homes at 7pm
MORE than 5,000 homes were left in the dark for over an hour yesterday evening, after a power cut hit Trowbridge and Hilperton at around 5.30pm.
Southern Electric confirmed the power cut in a tweet from @southernelecPD at 6pm, which read: “Apologies for the power cut affecting Hilperton, Trowbridge and surrounding areas. Update due at 21:00 if power not restored.”
The power supply was restored to affected customers shortly after 7pm by Southern Electric engineers.
A second tweet was sent from the company’s account at 7.02pm: “All supplies now restored to those affected by power cut in Trowbridge and Hilperton. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
