Friends of Trowbridge Park chairman Sharl Adabashi is delighted by the public’s response to the consultation on plans to transform the park, held at the Civic Centre on Saturday.

The group organised the consultation to tell residents about its proposals to transform the park over the next five to eight years and get feedback on its plans.

Plans include remodelling the lake, improving the look of the bandstand, creating and installing a major piece of art, improving the kiosk and surrounding area and building a community lodge and somewhere for young people to meet.

The FoTP is hoping to bid for substantial grants to pay for the project and wanted as much feedback as possible. More than 80 people attended the event and 40-plus visitors filled in questionnaires.

Mr Adabashi said: “It was absolutely buzzing and the eight projects that we presented were mostly well received. The plans for the lake and the bandstand went down particularly well.

“We had a good turnout and people were saying that it was a great success. There was a lot of interesting feedback and everyone who came seemed inspired by the plans, so we are delighted.”

The FoTP will now put together a report on the feedback for Trowbridge Town Council, which they expect to be finished towards the end of the month.
