POLICE are appealing for witnesses after receiving reports of a series of burglaries in the Hilperton area of Trowbridge at the weekend.
A number of homes in Hill Street were broken into between 3pm-6pm, with the offenders smashing the window of one of the properties and stealing jewellery.
Cash and crystal glasses were stolen from another house in the street, while damage was caused to the front door of a third home when offenders attempted to force their way in.
Police are urging residents to be extra vigilant with their home security and are appealing for anybody with information to get in touch.
Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area during these times is asked to contact PC Sonya McIntyre via 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
