TROWBRIDGE pre-school Rainbow Early Years is celebrating after receiving a grant for almost £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All funding.
Rainbow Early Years, which is based at Holbrook Primary School, is one of more than 80 community projects across the south west to benefit, after the Big Lottery Fund awarded a total of £2.7 million to the region.
Many of the awards, announced the day before International Youth Day on Wednesday (Aug 12), support children and young people, with the Trowbridge group receiving £9,997.
The pre-school will use the funding to commission a sculptor to work with nursery children to design specialist wooden play equipment to be housed in their play area, which is aimed at encouraging imaginative play amongst children.
Lyn Cole, Big Lottery Fund, England Grant-making Director said: “The valuable work of these leading charities and community groups is helping make a difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable children and young people in our society.”
