A MAGICAL evening was had by all at St Augustine’s College sixth form leavers' prom.
The Year 13 students came out for a final send-off at Wick Farm in Farleigh Hungerford last week, ahead of collecting their A-level results in August.
Sarah Large, head of year, said she thoroughly enjoyed the occasion as it meant everyone was able to celebrate their successes.
She added: “They have been a dynamic year group, driven to succeed in their academic studies as well as generously contributing to the wider life of the school and local community.
“The prom was an evening of celebration and a wonderful opportunity to reflect on all that they have achieved, both academically and personally.”
The students were dressed in their finest, the girls in a mixture of cocktail and full-length dresses, the boys in suits.
On arriving at Wick Farm, the students were treated to a formal dinner which gave them the opportunity to chat and have a catch-up with each other and staff.
Mrs Large added: “The barn was decorated in a rustic theme with ivy from the college, climbing roses and lavender which, with the candlelight and hundreds of fairy lights, made the setting feel quite magical.
“It was the perfect way to say farewell to a group of students who have worked incredibly hard and of whom we are immensely proud.
“I wish them all the best for the future and look forward to celebrating their A-level success in the summer.”
The evening was rounded off with a whole host of speeches where the students were able to pay tribute to their teachers.
