A NUMBER of number plates were stolen from cars in one Trowbridge street at the weekend.
Vehicles parked in Jasmine Way were targeted overnight between Friday and Saturday including a Mini, Ford Focus, Mercedes, Ford Mondeo, Toyota Auris and a Vauxhall Zafira.
The culprits are believed to have prized the plates from the cars, causing some to break which others have been screwed off.
PC Mark Hough said: "This is a completely mindless act and as a result of the actions of these individuals, many of the vehicles owners will have been left without any means of transport as the vehicles are not roadworthy without front and back plates.
"I'd like to appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Jasmine Way area overnight between Friday and Saturday - a number of vehicles were targeted and therefore it is likely that the offenders were in the area for a considerable amount of time."
