A MCDONALD’S employee from Trowbridge has been disqualified from driving for 17 months and fined £330.
Shuel Ahmed, of Underacre Close, recorded a breath alcohol reading of 67, when the legal limit is 35, when he was stopped by police on August 20, at around 4am, in Mascroft Road.
The 26-year-old, who is an asylum seeker from Bangladesh, pleaded guilty to the charge on September 8 at North West Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court.
He was pulled over by police for swerving outside the lines along the A361 Hilperton Road.
Ahmed, who has a wife and a son, was ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30 and to pay the fine within the next 28 days.
The length of the disqualification can be reduced by 17 weeks if he completes a driving awareness course.
