Longleat Safari and Adventure Park has unveiled a special 30 per cent discount on park Day Tickets throughout June to visitors living within the local area.

Running daily until June 30, the ‘locals’ Day Ticket gives unlimited entry to all rides, attractions and shows within the park and is an exclusive offer to the local community for people living within a 20 minute drive of Longleat.

Longleat CEO, Bob Montgomery, said: “We are keen to build stronger relationships with local residents. I hope this offer will be the first of many which show our intent and support for local community based initiatives.

“The promotion gives people living locally a more affordable day out and a chance to come and see the new attractions and features in the park.

“We’re also set to launch a brand new ride within the next month called Rockin’ Rhino for younger children, and hopefully it will be the local community which are the first to experience it and test it out.

“We also have the new walk-through Penguin Island and Stingray Bay areas within the Adventure Park which will provide other great experiences for visitors.”

The new ticket offer is an addition to the local Annual Pass ticket for which a special discount is also available to people living within close proximity to Longleat.

Along with the new offer Longleat have recently announced the Pleasure Walk, which runs parallel to the Lodge Drive down to Longleat House, has re-opened again for free access to walkers and dogs.

Access to the Pleasure Walk will be from Horningsham close to the Bath Arms Hotel.

While the walk does not include entry to the main estate where the attractions are based, it will allow people to experience the stunning Capability Brown landscaped arboretum which has been part of the estate for more than 250 years.

Local people can also continue to enjoy the views from Heavens Gate, Shearwater and vast areas of woodland within the 9,000 acre estate. Plus the national Sustrans cycle route remains open for cyclists to enjoy.

The 30 per cent discount is valid on all types of the All In One Day Ticket and Deadly Day Ticket and is available from now until June 30.

A pity this continues to be a divisive offer, surely everyone who lives in Trowbridge could be either in or out rather than draw a line around certain parts?

I live in the centre of Trowbridge and it certainly takes less than 20 minutes to drive to Longleat! Seems a shame as I am sure a lot of people from Trowbridge would have taken up the offer - maybe that is what they wanted to avoid!

I would book but if, as I see above, Trowbridge is not included then as that is where I live there is no point. Yet again alienating the locals. What a shame.

ALso, your link doesnt load from my machine???
