Children can flock to Warminster’s sheep trail launched by the Minster Church this December.

The second Messy Nativity Sheep Trail was established on Thursday when more than 30 pupils from the Minster Church of England Primary School walked with town crier Phil Seddon from the school to the Three Horseshoes shopping centre for carols and a blessing for the sheep.

The trail is on until December 21, with a prize draw on December 24 at the Minster Church’s crib service. There are 12 sheep to spot, hiding around the town centre.

Rev Carole Owen, who organised the event, said: “All the sheep are based on the same pattern, but they vary in size; some are small and some are big, and so I think both children and adults will enjoy spotting them.

“The idea behind the trail is that when you open the trail map you will find a Christmas story and we are trying to encourage children to have the story read to them so they understand the Christmas message. We have another idea for next year’s event, so watch this space.”

Trail maps are free from the Minster Church, Minster Primary School, the library and the TIC.
